REENACTORS
As part of our commitment to preserving the history and heritage of past Cavalry units, we are proud to sponsor a program to register Cavalry reenactor, living history, and mounted memorial units. This program’s fee is $5.00 and requires that you print out, fill in, and return our Registration Form. In return your group will be put in our data bank and you will receive a Certificate of Registry. Reenactors, living history groups, and mounted memorial units for all eras are invited to take part in this unique project.
Why register? The answer is simple: spreading the word about the Cavalry! The
Cavalry Association gets requests from individuals who may have moved and want
to locate a reenactor group in their new neighborhoods. We also hear from organizations
looking for groups to speak to school children, appear in parades, extras for
movies, and so on. Finally, we hear from people who are interested in getting
into the growing reenactor/living history community and have no idea where to
start. We use this registration program to answer all these questions.
There is a minimal charge for this service, and your responses are not used
for anything other than a referral service. We do not endorse units thus registered,
and there is no obligation or commitment. Registration does ensure that your
units will be known outside your local area, and that requests for information
or assistance will reach the correct people within your organization. This registration
data can also help units network locally, or within a two or three state area.
Help us keep the Cavalry spirit alive and immediate to those who may otherwise
never learn about Cavalry!
